This research report presents recent month review of shipment volume and sales value of four major categories of Chinese home appliances: washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioner, and LCD TV; also included are sales volume share of China’s top-10 home appliance vendors in each category; top-10 home appliance vendors’ sales volume ranking by types of models offered per category, by model number and ASP. The content of this report is based on secondary data obtained from National Bureau of Statistics of China, State Information Center of China and public information made available by international and Chinese home appliance vendors included herein. According to statistics released by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on April 15, the sales volume of Chinese home appliances totaled 178.2 billion RMB (US$28.7 billion; US$1 = 6.20 RMB) from January to March 2015, up 13.7% year-on-year. In March alone, sales volume of Chinese home appliances totaled around 62.7 billion RMB (US$10.1 billion), up 16.2% year-on-year. It is noteworthy that the statistics also revealed the online retail sales of China’s merchants, including home appliances, arrived at around 631.7 billion RMB (US$101.9 billion) from January to March 2015, up 41% year-on-year.
