Summary

Mexican Spirits sector accounted for a volume share of 1.28% of the global market and 13.63% of the regional (North America) market, in 2016. The sector is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.7% during 2016-2021. Growing popularity of Spirits among young adults and strong promotional campaigns by manufacturers to encourage new consumption occasions are driving the sector. Per capita consumption stood at 3.7 liters compared to the global and North America levels of 6.4 liters and 6.3 liters respectively, in 2016.

Whiskey was the largest with value sales of Mex$32,431.7 Million (US$1,737.4 Million) in 2016. It is also expected to grow the fastest at a CAGR of 9.6% compared to Brandy (2.4%), Gin & Genever, Liqueurs (7.7%), Rum, Specialty Spirits, Tequila & Mezcal and Vodka (3.2%).

Glass is the most commonly used package material in the Mexican Spirits sector.
